This is a personal blog. Here's a plain-language explanation of what information I collect, why I collect it, and what I do with it.
Who I Am
This is TheGraciosa.com, a personal blog. If you have any questions about this policy or want to exercise any of your data rights, you can reach me at: Graciosa at proton dot me
What I Collect and Why
Comments
If you leave a comment, the comment form collects your name, email address, website (optional), and the comment itself. Your IP address and browser information are also logged to help with spam detection.
Cookies
The site uses cookies in a few limited situations:
- Comment cookies — If you opt in, your name, email, and website are saved in cookies for one year so you don't have to re-enter them on your next comment.
- Login cookies — If you log in, cookies store your session for two days (or two weeks if you select "Remember Me"). These are removed when you log out.
- Editor cookie — If you edit or publish a post, a temporary cookie saves the post ID for one day. It contains no personal data.
Site Analytics
This site uses Ghost's built-in analytics to understand how content is performing. This data is aggregated and not tied to individual visitors. No third-party analytics tools are used.
Uploaded Images
If images are uploaded to the site, any embedded location data (EXIF GPS) could potentially be extracted by visitors. Please avoid uploading images with location data included.
Embedded Content
Some posts may contain embedded content from other websites (such as videos or social media). Embedded content behaves as if you visited those sites directly — they may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interactions.
Password Resets
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How I Use Your Information
- To publish and display your comments
- To communicate with you in response to inquiries
- To understand how the blog is being used (via aggregated analytics)
- To maintain the security and functionality of the site
Who I Share Your Data With
I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data may be shared only in these circumstances:
- Service providers — Third-party services that help run this site (such as hosting) may have access to data as needed to provide those services.
- Legal requirements — I may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process.
How Long I Keep Your Data
Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be approved automatically rather than held in a moderation queue.
If you have a registered account on this site, your profile information is stored until you request its deletion. You can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time from your account settings (note: usernames cannot be changed).
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data I hold about you.
- Deletion — Request that I erase your personal data (subject to any legal obligations to retain it).
To make either request, contact me at: Graciosa at proton dot me
This policy applies only to TheGraciosa.com and does not cover any third-party websites linked from this blog.
