FIRST LOVE

FIRST LOVE

This first love... and what started it all.

We woke up at 4am to make sure I’d catch the first light. My mother walked with me to the shore. I was lucky to catch one kid against the light, the son of a fisherman. I waited. I snapped away until I caught him alone by the rocks. I think we looked at each other here, feeling the connection, wondering what it was all about.

When I got the prints, I fell for it. It was my first try. I planned to be a doctor, but a roll of film, the feel of the shutter, took me away.
